The short version
The PulseBreak Mac app keeps its settings on your Mac. The website only collects what you choose to send through the launch signup or contact form.
The app
PulseBreak is a native macOS application. It runs locally on your Mac. Your break schedule, break history used by the timer, and preferences are stored on your device.
The app does not require an account. Break settings, routines, history, aggregate idle timing, selected frontmost-app rules, and profile usage stay on your Mac. PulseBreak does not record keystrokes, text, mouse coordinates, input content, window titles, or browsing history.
Smart Recovery may use public macOS information about elapsed idle time, recent input timing, the frontmost application identifier, and approximate full-screen window geometry. These signals are evaluated locally and are not sent to PulseBreak.
Updates
PulseBreak may check the public appcast feed to see whether an update is available. That request is used only to deliver app updates.
This website
This site does not use cookies or third-party trackers by default. Standard web-server access logs may record your IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp for security and operational purposes.
If lightweight analytics are enabled later, they will be configured without personal profiles or cross-site tracking.
Email updates
If you sign up for launch or product updates, your email address is used to send those updates. A six-digit confirmation code is sent first to make sure the address is real. Pending confirmation requests, confirmed signup records, IP address, user agent, source, and timestamps may be stored to operate the list and prevent abuse. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Contact form
If you send a message, the site stores the name, email address, message, source, IP address, user agent, and timestamp needed to handle the request and reduce spam. Contact messages are also emailed to the support inbox so they can be reviewed.
Spam prevention and service providers
The forms use server-side validation, rate limits, honeypot fields, and may use Cloudflare Turnstile to check whether a submission is likely to be human. Email delivery is handled through a mail provider. If newsletter delivery is connected later, confirmed email addresses may be sent to that provider for the purpose of sending PulseBreak updates.
Payments and support
Optional Pro and support purchases are handled by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. PulseBreak does not process or store your payment card details. Dodo Payments may collect information needed to process payments, receipts, tax, fraud prevention, refunds, disputes, and customer support. Optional support purchases are not charitable or tax-deductible contributions and do not include a Pro license.
Pro license activation
If you activate PulseBreak Pro, the app sends your license key and an anonymous, stable device identifier to Dodo Payments to activate, validate, or deactivate the license. The license key and activation instance identifier are stored only in your Mac’s Keychain. PulseBreak checks the returned product identity and license status. Your computer name, local break history, settings, and activity signals are not included in license requests.
The website receives signed Dodo webhook events for payment and license operations. It stores only event identifiers, hashes, event types, relevant product or entitlement identifiers, processing status, and timestamps needed for idempotency, fraud response, refunds, and operational auditing. It does not store license keys or payment credentials in webhook records.
Retention and deletion
Pending confirmation codes expire quickly and are deleted after successful confirmation, expiry, or repeated failed attempts. Confirmed signup and contact records are kept while they are useful for launch updates, support, security, and operational records. You can request deletion of your email signup or contact message by using the contact form.
